Order of January 14, 2010
Extending and amending the Order of 18 December 2008, as amended by Order March 19, 2009, on "rules on the prohibition of the use and possession of bait or poisoned."

In summary:
| At the end of the campaigns of rodent control, the specialist firms must address remediation of the site through the withdrawal of unused bait and the remains of rats or other pests.
| The term of validity of the Ordinance of the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Policy December 18, 2008, as amended by Order 19 March 2009 and the present, is extended by a further 24 months (ie until February 9, 2012 ).

In summary:
| Have been simplified procedures for the granting of marketing authorizations for the producers of rat poisons if the amendment relating to the substance does not affect bittering characteristics of prepared and their efficacy.

Order of December 18, 2008
Rules on the prohibition of the use and possession of bait or poisoned.

In summary:
| Pest and rodent control operations, carried out by specialized companies, must be carried out in a manner that does not harm in any way the people and other animals, and publicized by the same companies through notice boards in the areas concerned, with an indication of the presence of poison and the substances used.
| The producers of rat poison, rodenticides, nematicides and snail killers must add the product a bittering substance or repellent that makes it unpleasant to children and non-target animals. In the case of products marketed in the form of bait food, their administration should be carried out only in containers with access only to the target animal.
| From the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic, this Ordinance shall take effect 12 months (ie until January 16, 2010).
